Title Parish Histories: the Victoria County History Way by JEAN MORRIN

Tuesday 27 April at 7 pm.

Jean has been leading the new VCH Hampshire project since its inception in 2008. She co-authored, with John Hare and Stan Waight, the first of the parish histories, on Mapledurwell, published in 2012 (known as a “VCH Short”) and authored  the history of Steventon, published in 2016, with John Hare. As well as overseeing the team, she is currently researching the parishes of Newnham, Nately Scures and Up-Nately. Jean will consider the scope of VCH parish histories which include landscape, settlement, population, landownership and, in particular, social, economic and religious history. She will also draw attention to the period covered from the Medieval era to the present day.
