The HAT Calendar - in testing

A major initiative by Hampshire Archives Trust, the HAT Calendar, aiming to list many of the history and heritage events put on by local groups, is now undergoing final testing.

The calendar was developed in response to a need for local history groups and societies to be able to publicise the many excellent events put on by their groups, but of wider interest than that of their own membership.

The aim of the HAT calendar is to feature all the meetings and other events – visits, discussion forums etc – which cover Hampshire local history and heritage. Hampshire Archives Trust has contacted over one hundred local history and other heritage societies in order to create this “one stop” shop where those interested in Hampshire history and heritage can access details of the many excellent events put on by these groups. Groups will be able to upload the details of the events directly onto into the HAT Calendar.

The Calendar will be accessible to all visitors to the website, and will feature a search facility with key words, and maps showing the location of events.

The Calendar will be launched when it becomes possible for local history and other societies to be able to schedule events with some degree of certainty.

Any society who may be interested in using this publicity channel is invited to contact the Hampshire Archives Trust website coordinator
