An Introduction to the HAT Calendar

The HAT Calendar aims to list many of the history and heritage events put on by local groups in Hampshire and provide a single source of information for details and access to these events.

The Calendar was developed in response to a need for local history groups and societies to be able to publicise the many excellent events put on by their groups, but of wider interest than that of their own membership. There is no charge for featuring an event in the Calendar – the only qualification is the group is a Group member of HAT (see below)

The aim of the HAT Calendar is to feature all the meetings and other events – visits, talks, discussion forums etc – which cover Hampshire local history and heritage.

Hampshire Archives Trust has contacted over one hundred local history and other heritage societies in order to create this “one stop” shop where those interested in Hampshire history and heritage can access details of the many excellent events put on by these groups.

Groups will be able to upload the details of the events directly onto into the HAT Calendar  It will be accessible to all visitors to the website, and will feature a search facility with key words, and maps showing the location of events.

The Public Can Access The Calendar Via Two Screens

The Event List  provides a summary of forthcoming events showing the title of the event, the time and location and the organising body. Clicking on the event will provide more details of the events and booking information (if required)

The Event Map and Calendar shows the dates and details of events near you. You can set what events are shown in terms of distance from your (or any other) location , and when they occur.

Any organisation who may be interested in using this publicity channel can apply now
