Milford on Sea Historical Record Society has been awarded a HAT grant of £500 towards the publication ‘All the Queen’s Men’
This prolific and thriving local history society has been in existence for some 115 years. Over that time a lot of research material has been gathered and this book brings together material about the vicars of the ancient parish of Milford during the patronage of Queen’s College, Oxford 1626-1871. The book is expected to be published in November 2026
2026 marks the 400th anniversary of Queen’s College receiving the advowson (right to appoint the vicar) of Milford from Charles I. Research for the book has benefitted from the Society’s project ‘Local History Lives’
The book will be hard back with maps and illustrations in colour, in A4 portrait format and will be published in November 2026
There is the opportunity for HAT members to become subscribers to the book. Subscribers can order an advance copy at a 25% discount, at just £15 per copy. Postage and packing, where required, will be an additional £8 within the UK. As a further acknowledgement of their support, subscribers will be invited to have their names included in a printed List of Subscribers in the book. Anyone who prefers not to have their name included may, of course, opt out. The first 100 subscribers will have their name included in the book and any orders after 31st August will not be included in the List of Subscribers
