It is intended some 2700 negatives will be digitised ensuring their safety and providing electronic access by the public, media, aviation enthusiasts and academia (e.g. Royal Aeronautical Society papers (Journal of Aviation History) and other Historical Media film (TV) and magazines

Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST) was set up to save and make available to the public and wider media/academia the extensive records of the Royal Aircraft Factory (1908 – 18) and the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE 1918 -92) at Farnborough & Bedford. The RAE was a world leading aviation research & development Establishment and had a significant influence on the history and direction of British and Commonwealth aviation – both civil and military.

FAST has an extensive archive of reports, film, glass plate negatives, oral histories, artefacts (see website under Archives for more detail) and this is made available to the public through a free entry Museum housed in a 1910 Grade 2* listed aviation building
