Hampshire Archives Trust has recently awarded a grant to Milford– on– Sea Historical Record Society to digitise the mass of material they have gathered over their own 100 years as a society. This far–sighted and ambitious project looks to make research material widely available and in a form that suits the needs of users.
You can read more about the project on their own website page and find out how to get involved yourself
The Society already has a catalogue of its records (over 9,000) available in a searchable form on its website. To this, it will be adding various finding aids (research articles, Milford-on-Sea names directories and parish registers) compiled over the last 100 years to a digital searchable form.
One aspect of the project is seeking to provide material in formats that can be easily accessible by anyone with vision difficulties, learning difficulties or neurodiversity. The Society is also looking to engage more members with research and welcomes you to contact them to see how you can help.
The whole project will take about a year and is due to start on 1 July 2022.
