Is this the most successful Wessex Film and Sound Archives project to date?
The project held its final screening at Hampshire Record Office on 5 December. In project lead Zoe Viney’s own words
‘ …Working in Shadows has been an overwhelmingly positive project for WFSA and its partners. Excellent audience statistics coupled with an engaged online audience has served to boost the profile of the archive and local archive film..’
The project presented 7 screenings in theatrical venues with a live improvised musical accompaniment. In addition, silent screenings of the material in local libraries and in an exhibition event at Hursley House were held totalling 32 screenings in all.
Screenings were attended by 807 people which represents 92.43% of our target. Facebook hits were an astonishing 53,718
