Bishop’s Waltham Society is to create and spread information about the history and architecture within the civil parish of Bishop’s Waltham. The Bishop’s Waltham Museum Trust is the custodian of local artefacts and historic material (including photographs). Together they are sponsoring a project designed to help local residents research the history of the house they own, or in which they live, both from a physical, structural perspective as well as the more personal history of previous occupants.
HAT is pleased to support this project with a small grant of £500
The budget will provide
- Creation of website pages to hold information about the project
- Production of images and navigation structure based on streets and properties in Bishop’s Waltham
- Support to separate PDF documents into separate files
- Establish a filing structure to hold information for both public and private access levels
- Embed folder structure onto website to enable browsing of files, with access levels managed according to public/private viewing requirements
- Support in using appropriate software to create resources suitable for publishing online
- Support and guidance around hyperlinking resources to enable efficient navigation
- Face to face training for members of BWS to engage them during the process and to enable them to manage the future updates independently
