Somborne archive facility

In May 2026 HAT was able to grant £454 for equipment to furnish the Somborne and District Society’s archives storage facility. It is so good to see community group’s committed to caring for their collections.

The Society’s project is to facilitate a central resource with a safe, secure and appropriate storage area for archival documents, some dating back to the 1700s, and to provide individuals researching those documents with a reasonably comfortable space to complete their researches.  This need is increasing as more people investigate the past.

The Borough and parish councils’ are also providing funding.It is hoped to complete the project by 31 July 2026
