Lady Mary has been a resident of Hampshire for over fifty
years. From 1994-2014 she was Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire and was President of
the Hampshire Archives Trust during that time, and continues to support many
local and national organisations.
Lady Mary was appointed a Lady Companion of the Most Noble
Order of the Garter in 2018, is a Dame of the Order of St John, the first
Chancellor of the University of Winchester and is High Steward of the City of
Winchester. She was appointed a Dame Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in
2009, and a Companion of the Order of St Swithun in 2017.
