The Tudor Revels Palaeography Group

16th century documents
The Tudor Revels Palaeography group are a dozen volunteers who transcribe sixteenth-century documents held in the Southampton Record Office. Their transcriptions assist people not used to reading old documents to access the information more easily. Their work is used by genealogists, historians, for family history and as content for books and plays. Data is also used to support the Southampton People Project 1485-1603 which contains information about everyone who lived in Tudor Southampton. Currently, they are working on a volume for Southampton. Records Series based on mayoral remembrances and examinations.
