Family history is a hugely enjoyable pastime that enables us to connect with the people who came before us. It is a fascinating story ready to be told. This webinar will talk you through how to find and use some of the key resources you need. It will be of interest to those just starting out and with those more experience looking to take things further. We will cover the Census, Birth, Marriage and Death records, Wills and Parish Registers and make reference to a vast range of other resources found in Hampshire archives and further afield. We will also discuss some of the courses, books and other ways of learning more about family history. Lastly, we will cover research methods to make sure you are getting the most out of the time (and money) you spend on your family history.
Joe works as a freelance family and house historian and is an Associate of AGRA (the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives). In his spare time he is a part-time PhD student researching a trade community in seventeenth century England. He is also active as a Trustee of the British Association for Local History.
